The blade is one solid piece.

As for the handle/cover, each side is three pieces: the two outside ones and the "wall" in the middle.

We build the blade first, then fit the handle/cover around it by sanding down the inner "wall" piece until it fit snugly. Then we marked the joint holes and put in some loose screws (tight on the handle, loose on the blade).

I hope that helps ^^;
