I rolled over towards my nightstand and waved my hand in front of the motion sensor to activate the blinds, allowing the light from the twin stars to slowly roll into the room.
"So you finally acknowledged me, good. You better hurry up; today's dig is scheduled to start in only forty three minutes."
I responded with a frustrated growl as I sat up on the side of the bed and stretched my arms out. I looked around the room as the appliances flickered to life, ending their nighttime power saving hibernation. The holographic screen automatically tuned into the research outpost's news station, my favorite thing to ignore as I walked over to the shower stall in the bathroom.
